PINO helps around the house
A humanoid robot named PINO is to become the future Japanese home help. This intelligent fellow is 70 cm high, weighs 4.5 kg and is to cost around 150,000 marks. He is controlled by a Pentium III / 733 MHz processor and runs under RT Linux. This "helper" came from a project carried out by the state financed Kitano Symbiotic System. Six robots are expected to be sold this year and by 2025 a market volume of DM 73 billion is forecast for household robots.
