Thermotect®

An extremely high quality patented solution to protect the non-image areas of positive plates during baking (the baking process increases run length of anodised positive PS plates multifold).
Features
- Eliminates the need to re-develop or otherwise etch the plates after baking
- Prevents dot growth during backing
- The applied layer of Thermotect breaks down during the baking process for easy removal by wet washing.
- Can be applied by hand or used directly in the gumming section of a plate processor
Instructions
For hand application : Apply to the developed (and deleted) plate with a clean sponge or cotton wool pad. Spread the solution evenly over the entire plate surface. Buff down to a thin, even film. Care should be taken to avoid contamination of Thermotect from either sponge or the bench.
For processor application : Use the full strength solution in the finishing/gumming section of the plate processor, following the instructions of the equipment manual. For best results, the solution should be maintained at a specific gravity between 1.065 to 1.075. Under normal circumstances, this will be achieved by replenishing with Thermotect diluted with water.
