TechNova at PrintPack Expo 2003 (Press Release)
TechNova has unleashed a range of exciting new CtP products at PrintPack Expo 2003 exhibition in Mumbai (Bombay). Their 300 square metre Stand (A-5 in Hall 1) is a virtual CtP LaunchPad for a number of state-of-the-art products for Computer-to-Photo, Computer-to-Proof, Computer-to-Positive, Computer-to-Plate and Computer-to-Print. Next generation Graphic Arts Chemistry with focus on CtP Chemistry as well as Founts & Washes meeting with FOGRA specifications, occupies a place of prominence on the stand. Live demonstration of TechNova's Thermal CtP plate on Agfa-Gevaert N.V.'s Xcalibur Platesetter is generating the most excitement. In May 2002, TechNova had unveiled its plans to manufacture Thermal plates in
India in collaboration with Agfa-Gevaert N.V., with April 2, 2003 (carefully avoiding April 1st, better known as April Fools' Day) as the likely launch date. The plates have already undergone trials at Pragati Offset Pvt Ltd (Hyderabad), Shivang Creations (Mumbai), and Malhotra Print Shop (Mumbai). Testimonials of these customers along with print samples from TechNova's Thermal plates, Agfa-Gevaert N.V.'s Thermostar P970 Thermal plates, and TechNova's Alympia presensitised plates are displayed for examination by visitors. All the three samples are printed using the same images and under identical conditions at Pragati. (Don't miss the stunning pictures of Madhuri and Aishwarya from Devdas!)
The print samples dramatically and convincingly demonstrate :
- The striking difference between the Thermal plate prints & the presensitised plate prints, illustrating the "clear" superiority of the Thermal plates.
- The astonishingly close match between the prints from Agfa-Gevaert N.V. & TechNova's Thermal plates, serving as evidence that the TechNova plate is a precise clone of the Agfa-Gevaert N.V. plate in terms of reproduction & print characteristics. These are :

<<World's First No-Process CtPolyester Plate : "PolyJet">>
A technological breakthrough and the first-in-the-world product is the revolutionary PolyJet CtPolyester Plate. Four-colour jobs can be imaged on the plate using PolyJet wide format inkjet printer (based on Epson 7600). Imaged plates go directly to the press without any chemical processing. PolyJet plate is ideally suited for the two and four page format presses for low-cost two and four-colour short-run

NovaDom Platinum is an improved and a more robust version of NovaDom Polyester Laser Plate, the GATF InterTech Award Winner. NovaDom Platinum can be imaged on both sides using HP5000 series or Xante laser printers, and taken directly to the press for printing.

<<Laser Film with Silver-like UV-Density : "NovaSharp Diamond">>
During the 90's, TechNova's NovaSharp range of laser films, (which can be imaged on laser printers to serve as plate-ready positives), have enabled the newspapers to effect significant savings by substituting expensive silver-based camera and imagesetter films. NovaSharp Crystal, Pearl and Topaz Laser films have become industry favourites for single and spot colour work. NovaSharp Diamond, the new version, is designed for producing low-cost four-colour separations on high-resolution laser printers such as HP 5000 series & Xante. The special feature of this product is the high UV density of the image, which further facilitates substitution of silver-based films.
