CtP solutions from TechNova : Full Spectrum, Single Source At Print Pack 2009, Team TechNova emphasised its CtP solutions at Stall No. 30, Hall 12 A. Deepak Chawla, General Manager, Marketing (Offset Plates & Chemicals), pointed out, “TechNova is the only company in the world to manufacture the full range of CtP consumables, including Thermal, Violet, UV CtCP, Inkjet Metal & Polyester and Laser Polyester plates, pre-press & pressroom chemicals and printing inks. This puts us in a unique position to provide printers with an unbiased, knowledge-based view of the right system for each organisation, based on their current & future needs." The TechNova stall showcased a complete range of CtP solutions, right from entry-level systems to high end solutions for Thermal, Violet, Inkjet, UV CtCP and Laser technologies. For the first time, Indian printers now have the option to select the CtP technology that they need, from a full spectrum of offerings, from a single vendor. 
Violet :VioStar, the fully integrated range of Violet CtP solutions, is the latest CtP offering for Indian printers from TechNova. At Print Pack 2009, there was an overwhelming response from printers towards Violet CtP, as indicated by the number of people coming in to check out TechNova's VioStar CtP solutions. In fact, the numerous & regular “Sold” signs on the VioStar platesetters on each day of the show were a clear indicator of the instant success of TechNova's Violet CtP solutions from the word ‘GO!’ On display at the stall was a full range of VioStar Platesetters from FFEI and High Water Designs, UK; Processors from Heights, UK and Proteck, India; complete colour management and workflow solution with AM, FM & Hybrid Screening; and the VioStar range of violet CtP plates, specially designed for high-end commercial printing, which are manufactured in technical collaboration with Agfa. In addition, as part of its complete CtP solutions, TechNova offers FOGRA approved eco-friendly chemistry and a unique range of offset process inks from TechNova Toyo Inks that permit Hexachrome© printing on four-colour presses. Inkjet : The other major attraction at the TechNova stall was PoliJet, the world's first Metal & Polyester "three in one" inkjet CtP system that had earlier created waves at Drupa 2008. In a specially constructed yellow room environment, visitors could witness live demonstrations of the revolutionary MetiJet metal inkjet plates, on the versatile PoliJet Inkjet CtP system. This versatile system from TechNova can be used as a Platesetter, an Imagesetter and a Proofer. The MetiJet plate, another breakthrough in inkjet CtP technology is designed for multi-colour, on-demand printing and offers the performance of high quality metal plates combined with low cost and simplicity of the PoliJet Inkjet CtP system. In addition to the MetiJet plates, the Inkjet CtP system from TechNova also images PoliJet plates, the no-process polyester offset plates, which can then be taken directly to the press for printing small-run, four-colour work, in any format. The versatility of the PoliJet system is evident by the fact it can also be used as an imagesetter. This was demonstrated by the PosiJet and PosiJet ID films on display. PosiJet ID (InstaDry) is TechNova's “NoProcess” clear inkjet CtPolyester film for colour separations for offset, screen and flexo applications. As the name suggests, it takes no time for drying, and is ideal for pleasing full-colour & screen positives in any size, and offers unbeatable value-for-money. Arindam Sarkar, Product Manager (CtPoly), stated "Consistent and dependable press performance eliminates downtime due to plate failures on the press. A faster clean-up on the press minimises start-up and restart-up paper waste - along with an excellent damping latitude which helps maintain high ink density and low damp levels." With PoliJet, MetiJet and PosiJet ID in their inkjet CtP arsenal, TechNova has become the only company in the world that produces polyester and metal inkjet plates as well as polyester-based clear inkjet films for the breakthrough "three in one" Inkjet CtP system. 
Thermal :The VioStar and PoliJet CtP systems are the newest additions to TechNova's range of CtP solutions, which was initiated with TechNova's Thermal offerings, almost six years ago. TechNova's Thermostar TN, the world's fastest imaging Thermal CtP plate and Thermostar News, which is designed for newspaper applications, are 830 nm positive-acting plates, based on an innovative thermal technology developed and patented by Agfa. During Drupa 2008, TechNova launched the Thermostar Marathon plate, which is capable of run-lengths of up to 2,50,000 impressions without baking and one million with baking. In addition to world-class thermal plates, TechNova also offers technical guidance to printers who want to source components for their thermal CtP systems. Green Chemicals : Eco-friendly & Safe At PrintPack India 2009, TechNova also underlined the significance of its comprehensive range of chemical products. The range compares directly with offerings from international competition. Be it FOGRA approved products, high end fountain solutions, low environmental impact solutions or CtP compatible chemistry. Also, TechNova's Fine Chemicals Division highlighted its expertise in the manufacture of high technology photochemicals and other high value molecules. TechNova and Toyo Inks : A Quality Partnership One of the highlights at the stall was TechNova Toyo's range of high quality inks for sheetfed offset. Of particular interest was the new range of Kaleido Inks, a four-colour process ink package along with a colour management system that provides the same effect as a six or seven colour job. Vimal Parmar, Marketing Manager, Colour Management, TechNova Toyo Inks states, “We want to create awareness about how Kaleido can help in producing a colour gamut that is much closer to the Adobe RGB colour space than the gamut offered by ordinary inks. The Kaleido range of Inks, when combined with an RGB colour management system, makes it possible to achieve a colour gamut larger and more detailed than a Hexachrome© or in other words, a six colour print job without the use of any special colours.” The range of high quality inks are manufactured in India as part of a Joint Venture between TechNova and Toyo Ink Group, Japan, which is the third largest printing ink group in the world. This brings together the experience, skills and strengths of both companies combined with cutting-edge technology to provide world-class printing inks to the graphic arts industry in India. Specialised Engineering Tech Support and Value Added Services : TechNova backs its complete CtP offerings with specialised services that add tremendous value for the printers. Deepak Chawla explained that the company conducts a scientific analysis to formulate a complete CtP roadplan for printers who wish to enter the CtP arena. Chawla reiterated that this was done "on a 'no obligations' basis". Once the road plan was accepted by the customer, TechNova helped recommend and source the appropriate CtP system for a printer, right from entry-level to high-end systems, at the lowest cost. TechNova also provides customers with layout and pre-installation services including preparing the CtP room, and offers training to the customer staff both, pre and post installation. Digital Print Media : During PrintPack, TechNova also highlighted its Colour Laser Media which has a specially coated media for sharp text and vivid colour reproduction. The polyester base of the media provides tear resistance, dimensional stability and durability.
