IFRA India 2005, the 13th Annual Conference of IFRA India was held on September 21-22 at Le Meridian, Delhi. After a successful conference in Hyderabad last year, the event returned to India's capital city after five years. Since its inception in 1993, the annual IFRA event in India has become the meeting point for the Indian publishing industry.

TechNova used the exhibition to assert its growing commitment to the newspaper segment. As in the previous edition of IFRA India at Hyderabad, TechNova presented a joint booth along with Agfa. This booth offered a comprehensive array of CtP solutions from low-end to high-end and for all types of newspaper applications. TechNova and Agfa used their joint stand to thank the Indian Newspaper print industry for supporting them in their mission to bring the CtP revolution in India.

There was an audio-visual film which informed visitors about the enormous success TechNova has had with two of the leading newspapers in India (as per the NRS Survey, 2005). Both Dainik Jagran and Dainik Bhaskar have commenced their CtP journey by using TechNova's "Thermostar News" Positive Thermal plates.

Through a series of interviews and in-plant visits, the audio-visual film discussed technical and publishing issues affecting the newspaper industry worldwide and India in particular. TechNova effectively highlighted the advantages of Positive Thermal for Newspapers. TechNova & Agfa had also displayed samples of various Newspapers printed using Positive Thermal CtP technology and Violet Photopolymer, respectively. Also prominently displayed at the stall was TechNova's new range of PressCare Chemicals for CtP.

Rajesh Malhotra, Team Leader of CtP solutions for TechNova, explained that some Indian newspapers - like Dainik Bhaskar and Dainik Jagran - have selected positive thermal CtP systems instead of violet systems because thermal technology meets their requirements of peak-hour throughput. The other reason they chose thermal was local availability of plates and 24x7 total tech support.

Staying abreast with TechNova :

TechNova would like to thank all visitors at the stall for their great interest in TechNova's products and services.
