NOTE : For compatibility with printers not mentioned above, please test the media prior to use. To achieve the best possible print quality, please make sure correct ICC profile and heater settings are used. For further assistance, please contact our Helpdesk
Durability of Media
The durability of the printed image is dependent on the fading characteristics of the inks used. Please consult the ink manufacturer for technical advice.
If the printed graphics are likely to be exposed to corrosive liquids, smoke, fumes or a highly polluted atmosphere, or if there is a likelihood of scratching & friction, it is strongly recommended that the prints are laminated with a UV stabilised vinyl lamination film with a solvent-based adhesive.
This media, when printed and protected as indicated above (with a laminate), can have an image life expectancy of up to 6 months in indoor conditions.
Caution
We do not recommend using our self-adhesive media with Poly Carbonate sheets as these sheets have tendency of releasing gases resulting in damage to the prints.
We do not recommend pasting of our self-adhesive media on MDF/straw board.
Pasting this media over existing printed vinyl is not recommended. The smooth surface of the old media as well as the presence of the ink layer on it, will not allow a strong bond to develop between the old media and this media. It should always be pasted directly on a smooth wall / PVC foam board.
Usage Instructions
It is recommended to condition the media in the normal printing environment for 24 hours before printing.
Pre-test the compatibility of the inks with the media for design application, before commencing actual production.
To achieve the best possible print quality, please make sure that the correct ICC profiling, colour calibration is used. For further assistance, please contact our HelpDesk.
We recommend testing of the media for tiling application before doing the actual job.
The media should be printed within specified print limit.
A fresh pair of cotton gloves should be used while handling the bare media to avoid transfer of sweat, grease and oil on to the media as it could interfere with the print quality.
Printed media should be thoroughly dried before rolling-up for transport to avoid smearing.
Before mounting the prints on to PVC Foam Board or Acrylic sheets, it is recommended to conduct compatibility tests with the substrates in normal use conditions. Substrates must be moisture-free before mounting.
If a laminating machine is used for laminating or mounting, please ensure that the board is well supported and remains completely flat as it comes out of the machine. Also, while pasting manually, make sure that the board is kept on a perfectly flat table. Keep the board as flat as possible during transportation as this will prevent formation of tunnels or humps after mounting.
Ensure that the mounting boards are stored horizontally, prior to use. These boards have a tendency to deform when stored vertically, thereby leading to the formation of bubbles during or after mounting. For more details, please refer to the supplier's instructions concerning the conditioning of the substrate before use. Be careful to avoid re-absorption of moisture from the air, during and after mounting.
Wet method to mount prints may cause water/moisture residuals and it will impact the adhesive property. We recommend dry pasting which does not leave any scope for water to remain trapped between the print & mounting surface.
When not in use, the media should be stored in its original packing.
For better results keep the humidity in the print area at 60% RH (± 10%).
Separate earthing to the printing machine is recommended to avoid static charge build up while using PVC vinyl or other plastic media.
Excess static can cause fire or deteriorated print quality.
